The Leblanc Esprit was Leblanc's entry level professional wooden model. It was descibed by Leblanc as having a darker, and yet more flexible, sound than the slightly cheaper Sonata. The Esprit is known for its roundness of tone, good intonation and ease of playing. Also in my opinion and for my larger hands it has perfect ergonomy. This clarinet has been fully overhauled and has new double bladder pads. It has serial number 76496 and was made in 1986. The plating of some of the keys shows signs of wear. Their was a crack in the top of the upper joint which has been professionally repaired by means of a metal ring and carbon fiber pins. The crack was not through the bore but I decided to reinforce it anyway. I give a 2 year warranty on the development of cracks.
It comes equiped with a Ton Kooiman ergonomic Thumb rest or a regular thumb rest of choice.
